The Whole Boy Growth Chart

Use this guide to help you follow and assess your son's development from preschool through 8th grade. You'll find a range of skills for each grade level, from academic abilities and motor skills to social and emotional development. As a parent, it‚s helpful to have a sense for how a child develops so you can be assured your son is on the right track, and are aware if developmental problems arise. Remember every child develops skills differently, the key is to have a sense for how your son is progressing over time.

Select the grade level of your son below and find out what new milestones and skills should await him:

This chart is only a guide to the development you might see from your son. Every boy develops differently. More important than the age at which each milestone is achieved, is that the milestones are being achieved roughly in order. There should not be a large lag between areas of development. If you are concerned that your son is not progressing adequately, please consult with your pediatrician or health care provider.
